The Francucci family has been cooking Italian food since 1962, and on Kurfürstendamm since 1996. In 1998 the restaurant received the Insegna del Ristorante Italiano, presented at the Quirinal Palace in Rome by President Oscar Luigi Scalfaro.
Almost everything here is made in house. We bake our bread every morning, roll our own pasta and make our desserts by hand. The Chianina beef we select and import ourselves from the Apennines. Lunch from midday Monday to Friday, from 4 pm at the weekend. Kitchen until 11 pm, no closing day.
The oldest and largest cattle breed in the world, raised in the open for some two thousand years. We import directly and age the cuts on the bone. The Bistecca Fiorentina arrives as a whole T-bone, carved into slices, with sea salt flakes and our own herb oil.
The Pizza Franco dal 1962 has been on the menu since the day we opened: mushrooms, peperoni and spicy salami, cut in the mini-pizza style. Ten more pizzas and focacce come out of the stone oven alongside it.
The Penne all'Abruzzese are Papà Franco's original recipe from the 1982 World Cup. The Pappardelle al Ragù 2.0 come with a pale, slow-cooked ragù made entirely from our own organic Chianina beef. In famiglia, we like to put the pasta in the middle of the table to share.
Things get interesting after dinner. Our range of amari runs from the Alps to the far south – the largest in the city, according to tipBerlin. Ask your waiter; he has opinions.
99 seats inside, up to 80 on the summer terrace facing Kurfürstendamm. A few free spaces in front of the restaurant, plus paid on-street parking along Kurfürstendamm.
